population has nothing to do with it……its by how much training and dedication the athletes put in to themselves, USA didn’t win the most gold medals because it has a higher population…….it’s because their athletes trained their asses off to win…i mean really how does your comment make any sense…it’s all about the individual athletes performance in the Olympic games, where they are from and how many people live there doesn’t mean shit…

Actually if you take the population of each nation in to account, China was very poor.
The population of the UK is 62 million they won 29 Gold medals, but the USA has over 5 times the population of that of the UK, so they would have needed 145 Gold medals to be equal to the UK, but they only won 46 Gold.
So the UK did by far the best.

USA didn’t win the most gold medals in Beijing 2008, Barcelona 92, Seoul 88, Moscow 1980, Montreal 76, Munich 72, Rome 1960, Melbourne 56, Berlin 36, London 1908 and Paris 1900 summer olympic games and all of the winter olympic games except Lake Placid 1932 so no USA haven’t won the most gold medals in all of the olympics.
Urm Scottish athletes won 13 medals & 7 golds…that is not a third of the total (65 medals and 29 gold). In fact there were only 2 Scottish individual gold medalist (Chirs Hoy and Andy Murray) & only 1 other individual medalist (Michael Jamieson) all the others were won in teams involving (hate to say it) the English. And if the Scottish athletes competed on their own they can wave goodbye to all the money, coaching & support they get. Besides they all looked pretty proud to be representing GB!

“Every Olympics”? That crack you’re smoking must be worth a lot on the street. During the Cold War, the USSR won more gold medals than the U.S. at many Olympics. Even in the last Olympics, China won more gold medals than USA by a wide margin, 51 to 36. I’m not anti-American, but dishonesty only hurts yourself.
