A YouTube video shot during the November 9 student rally in London allegedly shows plainclothes police acting as agents provocateurs among the protesting crowds. The video uploaded by the user “noshockdoc” shows two people who first engage in rough handling of one of the rally protesters. Then, reportedly, the same people are shown along with six others detaining someone behind a police cordon. The media dubbed the November 9 march against tuition fees and education cuts one of the most intensively-policed events to take place in London. The force had 4000 officers on duty on the day, and they were authorized to use rubber bullets if necessary. This was never needed, however. The Met reported that 24 arrests were made on the day. Some of the protesters reported incidents of violence which they said had been caused by the security forces. “The police tried to provoke people to react violently, and some people had to act in self-defense against police attacks, but we all supported one another and prevented the police from causing a riot,” one of the activists, identified only as ‘Dan’, told the Oxford University student newspaper Cherwell.

If any one of us roughed up a person like that, we’d be wrestled to the ground, handcuffed and carted off. That’s a clear abrogation of duty by the police officers.

The thing is… these people were obviously COMMITTING CRIMES by causing an affray, or committing assault, or on occasions far worse. Who does one lodge a complaint with? Who is going to prosecute these assholes? The Government? The “Justice Department”? The Crown? The Police??? When the powers that be is endemically criminalized, and corrupt, then we have to take thuings into our own hands, at a time of our choosing. Or else civilization is finished. Scotland Yard, NYPD… two of a kind…

@Mileneum69 In the business world, I am held responsible for my mistakes financially and legally. Any actions taken by me can also result in the loss of my usefulness to my family. If this would be the case to the rogue cops and consequently their families, then they need to keep that in mind before they lash out with their aggressions. Maybe they will think about something more important to them than just theirselves before they use violence against peaceful citizens.
@altgeldrarities I guess. But most of these cops are two-faced. They are all nice and gentle at home but then they turn into beasts when they’re at work. I agree that wives and children do have some effect on their husbands and fathers but thats ONLY when they are in each others presence. Seems it would only work if they were standing next to them at work all the time. Theres only so much a wife or child can do or say to get them to change. However thats there own choice is it not?
@Mileneum69 Maybe support from their family members would help them choose a less violent path. Children and wives can often have a calming effect for overly aggressive, large balled, testosterone envy freaks.

@gp11g08 Protesting how corporations have used money to influence government policy against us. Take a look at the police. They USED to serve the community. Now they are TRAINED to see ALL of us as the enemy. Those are just a few of the MANY things the OWS is protesting against.

This may seem ignorant, but I really don’t understand what the OWS etc people are protesting about. What is so bad about their lives? Take a look at the majority of Africa and the Middle East to see some real injustice and government corruption.
Undercover cops are recruited from the same pile of humanity that believes violent demonstration is the only solution. So the same pile find themselves opposing each other. You can tell who is who by the way they make physical contact. Police v dissenters is a political paradigm going nowhere. The real tyrants in society are those who have a violent nature and they exist on both sides of the constructed divide.

thats the thing about these types of cops, they feel tough when they are harassing peaceful civilians, but they would never fight in a war to defend their country, they would cry like a baby and wouldnt last 2 minutes in battle, but they are real tough guys when they harass people without any weapons.
